This course emphasizes the understanding of statistical techniques, topics, and software used in commerce. The course includes two approaches to statistics:
- Descriptive statistics, which address methods of organizing, summarizing, and presenting business data in an informative way, and
- Inferential statistics, which are methods for sampling data to determine something about a population.
This is an incredibly valuable course, but also one of the most difficult. Be sure to speak often with your professors, ask a lot of questions, and form strong working relationships with your fellow students. Topics include data analysis, probability and significance, sampling distributions, estimation, and means and hypothesis testing. Meets LAC outcome: LLD4. 5 crs.
